On a rather warm Saturday, We took a hike by foot to the 'other side of Peñacastillo' as we call it, where the Feve train line runs East/West. We hopped on the train with the intention of getting to the end of the branch line in Cabezon de la Sal. It's about an hour through small pueblos dotted with crops, livestock and small farms. We arrived and walked the town (quiet during Siesta on a Saturday!) had some Merienda (afternoon tea/Coffee/Snacks), and then took the train back home.
As we walked home at dusk, we walked past a pond which had HUNDREDS of Cattle Egrets (I think). They were so loud! I was really wishing I had my tripod. Well, I had one in the US, but need to get one here.
About 10:00p A super-thick fog rolled in, and I had just been thinking the previous morning that the next time we had a thick fog,I wanted to take photos in the park. Recently, the city has updated public areas with new LED lights. A number of months ago, they replaced the ones in our local park, and I have just been amazed at how they are so matched to an old style of street lamp. I just love them.
